Chevrolet Camaro

Barrett-Jackson sees some of the rarest and most amazing muscle cars to ever grace an auction block, but this one in particular will probably bring in some great money this year as well as the future.  Its options you ask?  A 275 hp 327ci motor, automatic transmission and a red leather interior.

However, upon further inspection, you’ll notice a few important numbers on this 1967 Camaro. Such as, the body number is #001, the VIN number tell you that its number 16.  SIXTEEN.  These two numbers make this boring, slow, plain-Jane car the first production Chevy Camaro in existence.

This car is the perfect example of why you never judge a book by its cover.  Just because it doesn’t have the Z28 emblems, or the SS hood vents, doesn’t mean this car isn’t as, if not more, important than any other Camaro on the block.  You’re all aluminum ZL1 may be fast, but this one is just plain cool.

The Camaro came onto the block, and people scratched their heads wondering what the big deal was.  That was until they heard the details.  Then this seemingly ordinary Camaro sold for a cool $75,900.  Not bad for a 327, automatic, "boring" Camaro.

Stay tuned to Planet Camaro for more cool classics like this.
