It's been some time since we have heard anything more from GM and the official plans to get the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro out in front of the public. Perhaps there is a large surprise we don't know about? Maybe Chevrolet is waiting to make a booming announcement about the Camaro coming in a 4-door version? OK...maybe not. What is known is that the new Chevy Camaro is going to have to show itself to be everything promised and more. One potential way that could warm BowTie lovers' hearts would be to make the convertible concept a reality, as everyone has hinted at.
Most bets are on that the drop-top version of the Camaro, should it be produced, will be released for public viewing (drooling) sometime during the 2007/2008 Autoshow season. While some believe a global front might be best to make the car's debut, many say that the official unveiling will be on home soil--in Detroit.

With the competition from the Ford Mustang, the new Camaro will have to have its own "Bold" offering for consumers to get on board with the new concept idea. An array of powertrain choices (the 3.6 liter V6, the 5.3 liter V8, and the 6.0 liter V8) will be available to get the entry level enthusiasts as well as the hard core gearheads tearing up the track. The biggest enemy so far that the Camaro faces is time. With the official production approval for the 2008 start time, it will have to make a stunning entrance in order to keep up with even today's market pace. If we hear anything further, we'll be sure to keep you posted on any developments involving the new Chevrolet Camaro. *Images courtesy of Autoweek.com
