By now, we have all seen
the public shots of the forthcoming Chevrolet Camaro. We know what it looks like, both inside and
out, have a good idea of base MSRP, and know what powerplants will be
offered
.or do we? |

General Motors has quite the display of vehicles in the forthcoming summer blockbuster-to-be Transformers movie. Among the hot rod lineup of robot cars is the Chevrolet Camaro. Almost every vehicle in the movie is a GM product, except for the Ford Mustang. What we've seen so far of this movie in stills and trailers shows that the American hot rods are alive and strong, in spite of the sour news we hear on the street. We'll have to wait until July to see just how good the Camaro looks on the silver screen. Until then, we have to rely on Hollywood intel to keep us pacified.

After wetting our appetites with the sneak peak of the new Camaro Convertible, Chevrolet brought the real thing out on stage today at the Detroit Auto Show. The bright tangerine-like orange gave quite the glow as it pulled down the runway. Chevy is definitely on to something with this car, and it will likely sell like hotcakes. |

The new Chevrolet Camaro concept speculation continues to brew on. Recently, ideas that GM might squeeze the Z06's LS7 engine were passed around, as GM's Bob Lutz hinted at the possibility. An LS2 is a logical choice as well and is a proven alternative. But, will the LS2 be the proper caliber of weapon to shoot down the upcoming Dodge Challenger or Fords Shelby GT500 Mustang? In the August issue of GM High-Tech Performance, the concept of upping the ante to a supercharged LS9 engine in the Camaro SS was mentioned. As if the LS9 isn't enough, some reports indicate GM is in the beginning stages of developing a larger LS-style engine, packing 8.3 liters of displacement and 900 horsepower. At this point, it is too speculative to assume anything, but this card could just be Chevrolet's ace of spades. |

This video (embedded below) shows the Camaro concept following some prior generation models in a slow processional to make a bold statement. Is this what we can expect to see? Will Chevy add more spice to it before it is produced? |
